We believe in using fitness as fuel for life’s endeavors. We are the fitness program for the creatives, the remote workers, the nomads, the travelers. We will support you wherever you are on your fitness journey, because we believe growth happens when you enter new territory.

OUR Philosophy

building lasting habits for all

Everything we do and make revolves around creating healthy and active lives. We don’t just provide you with the knowledge and leave you on your own. We work with you by creating small habits that build to big change.

exploring the modern frontier

Part of our mission is exploring the unknown and challenging the known. We don’t accept dogma. There is no single perfect diet. What role does genetics play in our health? How does our microbiome contribute to who we are? Why do so many of us suffer from autoimmune diseases? These unknowns are what we call The Modern Frontier, and one of our passions is exploring it.

It’s about what you eat and what you do

Healthy living requires both physical activity and sensible eating. If you just go to the gym but don’t pay attention to what you eat OR cut out all processed foods but never leave the couch and office chair you’re missing a huge chunk of the picture. All of our coaching services focus on both fitness training and nutrition. You get a completely integrated prescription by professionals to achieve your goals.

Don’t Workout. Train

We’re about training, not working out. When the word ‘work’ is at the root of what you’re doing, it doesn’t sound like fun. ‘Training’ implies a higher goal, a rung in the ladder towards achieving something greater: losing weight, competing in a race, staying agile in old age. That’s why we train. What are you training for?

Joey Daoud

CEO & Chief Coach

Joey’s mission is driving positive change in others. As an award winning documentary producer he caused change through media. Driven by his family’s history with obesity and his own journey with Crohn’s disease, he wanted to have a larger impact with a smaller audience. That led to the creation of New Territory Fitness, whose mission is to make healthy living accessible to others.

More About Joey

Growing up, Joey had zero athletic ability or interest. Computers and filmmaking were far more interesting than team sports. He went to extremes to avoid any kind of fitness regimen – he even took physical education online in high school.

However, in his 20s, overweight and out of shape, he knew he needed to make a change. After 3 months of hemming and hawing he joined his local CrossFit gym and hasn’t looked back.

The wide variety of movements kept things interesting and always presented a new challenge.

Real change came when he focused on his nutrition, cleaning up his eating through Whole 30 and dropping 30 pounds in the process.

The foundation Joey found through CrossFit led him to wonder what else he could achieve. That manifested itself into summiting Mount Rainier and competing in road races, Spartan races, and Ragnar races.

As someone who has been living with the autoimmune disorder Crohn’s disease for over 10 years, Joey is also passionate about finding therapy through fitness and nutrition and exploring new fronts in science, including the microbiome and DNA testing.

Joey created New Territory to be more than a coaching company. It’s about helping everyone learn and discover their best selves.

HOLISTIC Programs

5 Coaching Domains

fitness

Getting enough activity in each day with a balanced program across the week that develops aerobic capacity, strength, and flexibility, to keep you feeling ready for life’s activities.

nutrition

Understanding how to eat healthy, balanced meals, with the help of our custom video tutorials. We don’t prescribe a specific diet but set a foundational knowledge to eat well for life.

recovery

Recovering well is just as important as working out. This includes rest days, mobility, getting enough quality sleep, incorporating movement into your entire day.

mindfulness

Reflection. Journaling. Meditation. Buffer already has mindfulness built into their values, with practice reflection and show gratitude. We expand further into that.

Play

Fitness should be the building of a solid foundation to enable everyone to do the stuff they love: a favorite sport, playing with their kids, going on an outdoor adventure.
