Life Imitates Art…I Wish

It’s extremely ironic how I’m making a documentary on being organized and productive while lately life has been going 160 MPH and I’m just trying to hold on.

This has been about the most disorganized I’ve been in a long time. My room looks like one of the bazillion hurricanes hit it, I still have 80 unanswered emails and about twice that I need to send.

Plus, you know, I need to make a movie. GTD hasn’t been Getting Things Done but Get Through ‘Dis.

Interning and Teaching Assisting have been eating most of my time while I try to fit editing and some more shooting around that. Plus a few other minor things, such as figuring out what direction I want my life to take in a few months when I graduate.

I’m trying to get back in the habit of getting everything out of my head and onto a list. Funny thing I haven’t quite caught onto yet – if I write a few things I need to do for the day, I’ll generally get it done. I just haven’t repeated that action.

I’m not too worried – I did a decent room clean today. But in a way that was some productive procrastination because I should have been editing. Going to the dollar theater for Wanted was definitely procrastination.

I need to watch my own film. But first I need to make it. I’ll just add it to the list.

Sounds like you need some help with GTD. I’ve written several posts about my experiences with GTD on my blog at http://johnkendrick.wordpress.com/how-to-gtd/ and also have a link to some short and concise GTD training videos that might help you out. They helped me, John.

Thanks John and Keonne. I’m already filtering out the junk in my life. More TK.
