Exploring Life Hacking 10 Years Later
A look back at the origins of life hacking from my decade old film You 2.0.

Hooked on Gadgets, and Paying a Mental Price I was reading the New York Times on my iPad at breakfast this morning when I saw the above photo and died laughing. The article is really interesting and talks about our addiction to gadgets causing problems with our...
As you've have seen on the site or Twitter, for the past year I've been working on a documentary on high school combat robots called Bots High. The national championship is approaching, where the teams I've been following will battle it out to see if their robot is...
If you think this is such a big asset for a person, or let’s say humanity… practice what you preach and put the whole movie on YouTube or Vimeo for free, just like they did with Yann_Arthus-Bertrand’s “Home”.
I know you guys have to make money to pay for food, family needs and new gadgets and such, but if you share this for free, more will come to you eventually.
Maybe, I just wasn’t able to find the right link, then it would be awesome if you put it here.
I’ve never really said to give everything away, just anything not relating to your main objective. And while there is no ‘guys,’ just me, as you said I do need to eat and live, and this is my job.
If you’re referring to the ProBlogger article, I do say to give lots of things away, and not nickel and dime people. That’s why Typewriter was free, as well as the podcasts, because they weren’t part of the main objective, which is the You 2.0 documentary.
Plus, Home was fully sponsored and funded. You 2.0 was fully funded by myself, so at the very least I’d like to break even. And Arthus-Bertrand is a photographer, his main job and source of income. I’m just getting my career off the ground, but right now this is all I have.
Down the line I’d like You 2.0 to be free and online, and hopefully the same for future projects. But none of those future projects will ever get made if I’m starving and out in the streets with no where to plug in my computer.
Btw – Home was online until July 15. Now it’s gone.
Fabulous. I can’t wait to see!
P.S. Am always at odds with myself. I think the biggest battle we fight is with ourselves.
